Help! Loose weight :/

I need motivation! Like super super need motivation. I need good music to ::gag:: run/jog with. I need competition. I'm super competitive and will strive to win (I'm super crazy)...so if you need to loose weight and want to do it with me...I'd super super love you forever!

I'm on MFP (my fitness pal), just started Couch to 5k (C25k day #2 today), and have been adding 50+ crunches a day (I'm up to day 2...today was 100 regular, 100 sideways,100 leg lifts).

Anyone else???!? I have a goal in mind and it's roughly 10lbs away. But if I get near there and love it...I might just stay!

  1. Besides the "calories out" with your new exercise routine, don't forget the "calories in" as well. This one was hard for me. I liked to think I could eat all the food I wanted since I was running. But after having 2 kids and just plain getting older, I realized I had to make some changes because I never should've weighed 143. What worked for me, and I've somehow been able to maintain this plan for almost 2 year, is this:

    1. Watch portion size. People say that all the time, but again, I felt immune to this. Until I started realizing how overstuffed I felt after meals... I started taking my lunch to work more, in manageable sizes, instead of eating out and feeling I needed to clean my plate every time. I realized how often I'd been overdoing it, and that I really didn't need as much as I'd been eating to keep myself going.

    2. Reduce sugars. This was hard because I have a terrible sweet tooth, and I knew I could never eliminate sweet treats. But I have reduced my intake during the day and realized that I just need a little bit (like a snack-sized Reese's cup) to make me happy (as opposed to a king-sized Snickers).

So I was at a high of 143 after my kids were born, and with exercise and those small modifications, I'm down to 120ish and have maintained that for almost 2 years.

Good luck! Hopefully you can find a buddy to help make the workouts and the weight loss fun!

  2. You CAN do this girlie! It is definately tough to get started and keep it going. We are in week 4 right now of doing INSANITY and dieting as well. I get 300cals 5x per day and have switched to whole grains and such. There are so many different diets and tips out there, you were given really good advice out there. It's impt to "snack" between meals so taht your body isnt taking everything in when you eat. You probably know this though. I am down 7 pounds as of this past Monday and we measure ourselves every 2 weeks and at our last measurement 2 Mondays ago I was already down 3 1/2 inches. The important thing to remember is that it's not going to happen over night but you are working towards a healthier you. :)
