Since being with DH 8 years...married for 5, we've had a lot of conversations. But since having a baby we have found that we did not have some of the most important ones.
Here is my list:
1. Circumcision or Not?
2. Bed time routine. Cry it out or Not?
3. Holidays, where are they spent or does family come to you?
4. Feeding. Breastfeeding and having 100% support or formula?
5. Carseat. Extended rear facing or Not!?
All of these items have been mini battles!
I do not want circumcisions...he does;
I do not believe in CIO...he does;
Holidays I want at home with family...he wants to see family other places;
I wanted to Breastfeed and he although was supportive, he wasn't sure if I could handle it;
and Carseat I want her backwards until basically 4/5 and he wants to turn her ASAP!
What's funny is...A nursed until she self weaned (14 months), she has never ever once cried it out, and is still rear facing! :)
So please please have these types of conversations before you have children. They may seem silly now, but it will save you from battles in the future!
(and yes we talked about most of these...but never in great depth...do your research)
Are there any others that's I should add to my list?!?!? Cloth diaper v. Disposable maybe?
