In love with Mama

A has been attached to my hip lately. Everywhere we go, everything we do... I have to be near or holding her.

Today she even cried when I had to drop her off!

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining! I live for the cuddles and the fake booboos she wants me to kiss all the time. I just feel bad for Dh. She doesn't care if he leaves and doesn't want him to put her to bed or kiss her booboos.

This is a phase right?! She is go back to loving her Daddy just as much? I know it hurts DH's feelings (even if he says it doesn't).

What do I do?

A FIRST...

This weekend is the first weekend where I can just hang out with A! Gymnastics starts up next weekend...School and Tests are in a few weekends! All we have on Sunday is our niece and nephew's dedication! I am relieved...and to say relieved is a complete understatement. With lesson plans, tests, family and life...I just need a break. Sunday I just have to tighten up some of my lesson plans, write up a quick observation...and BOOM...done...only 4 more classes until I have my M.Ed! :) And that should not take long! :) :) :) So wish me a happy Saturday...I shall be doing nothing but hanging out with my baby! :)

Allergies and a horrrrrible doctors appointment

I will be changing primary care doctors very very soon. I have really horrible allergies this year. And well, going to the dr did not do anything except ruin nap time, cause a major meltdown over wearing our coat, some glaring looks about said melt down and a doctor who just had a baby 2 months ago look at me like I was a horrible parent because my kid was crying.

First off I don't care if anyone looks at me like I'm crazy if A is having a meltdown! If you're a parent then you know what it's like so I know you won't stare. If you aren't a parent and plan of having kids you will get it soon enough. Trust me the whole "that will never be my child" doesn't work. It will be your child.

Second, what the heck am I suppose to do? What do you do when your child had a full out tantrum when your in public? Experienced parents please let me know.

And third...my doctor has crossed me for the third time. She has no bedside manners. And well, I like a doctor that is straight to the point but needs to not be as abrasive. Make sense? With all the we've been through don't call me a habitual aborter. Yeah it is the technical term for reoccurring d&e and d&c's but to say it to my face is a bit much. We had losses. Losses we have been heartbroken about. Let's not rub it in our faces now.

So yeah...fun doctors appt. Now I'm off to watch Beauty and the Beast with A!

Wish me luck finding a new primary care physician!

Thank you,

The House/Earth Day

Our house is ALMOST done on the inside!

Kitchen just needs the island top finished....one more railing put up on the back deck...and the upstairs extra bedroom needs to be spackled, sanded, and painted again!  :)

Then we start on the outside...We need to paint...and do some major overhaul!  And taking trees out, replanting bushes...and planting new trees is the "overhaul" plan!

It works out that April 22 is Earth Day!
And we can get free trees! :)  YES, FREE Trees!

I am excited!  Plus we need to figure out our grass too...so a lawn mower is definitely on the list too!

(This was not a sponsored post..they are giving trees out, limited supply at Lowes starting when they open their doors!  Wish me luck...I want 2).

XOXO,

Hmmm

Did you ever deal with friends that ignore you? And you have NO idea why?

I had a g/f who has been ignoring me. I asked her what was up...turns out she was mad at me! Way to be passive aggressive!

I talked to her about it and it was over not sending her child an Easter card (I am a crazy card lady and didn't send out any this Easter...I've been too busy); and she's upset that I haven't had anytime for her.

With my family, work, school, licensure tests (and studying), and renovating the house who has time?

I just wish she would have said something instead of ignoring me. My feelings are and were hurt. We are good friends. Friends talk!!!!!

She is my moms friends daughter... So you know my mom is involved...and her mom... So now I'm suckered into a girls night with all of them...fun...and yes I am excited...but I just really have no time! Next week I will...but this week renovations need to be completed!

So what do I do? Was I wrong to confront her?

Round 2 of the GIBug

Can I call out sick from school?!??

Thank God for zofran (and my favorite pharmacist).

A has gotten sick a few times, and we're all run down.

We didn't know it, but the reason she didn't want to sleep; we were up from 3-6 this am; was because this bug had given her a bellyache.

Wish us luck!

P.S. I was stung by a bee today....on my ass.... So I literally had a pain in my ass!

The weather has sucked. I will run in the am...rain or shine!!!!!!!!!

Wish me luck!

Toddlers and T.V.?

Does your child watch TV?

Mine does!  Not to the point where all she does is sit in front of the screen all day, but we do watch some shows and movies that she loves.

A would rather be outside than sit in front of a television.  She loves singing, playing, coloring and playing with play-doh.

In the morning we watch a "show"...mostly "Ha Ha" aka Snow White (the name Ha Ha came from her singing the beginning song) for about a half hour....and at night after our dance party (which by the way has been mostly the "chicken dance" then "Toot Toot chugga chugga big red car" followed by "head, shoulders, knees and toes" on REPEAT for over an hour!  We watch one of the shows on demand...mostly Caillou...maybe 20 minutes tops.

DH has the television or the radio on during the day...and if she grazes by it and watches, it doesn't keep her attention long enough...

I have read lately that too much can rot your brain, and then the opposing let your child watch tv no harm can be done.

What is your take?  Seriously.  Does your child watch TV?  Do they have a favorite character?  Are you like me and if the Wiggles lets me speed clean my house for 20 minutes do you let them watch it? (by the way, I am an Olympic speed cleaner...yeah...I can vacuum, dust, sweep and empty/load the dishwasher all in 20 minutes..and it looks amazing!)

Things that YOU and your significant other need to discuss

Since being with DH 8 years...married for 5, we've had a lot of conversations. But since having a baby we have found that we did not have some of the most important ones.

Here is my list:
1. Circumcision or Not?
2. Bed time routine. Cry it out or Not?
3. Holidays, where are they spent or does family come to you?
4. Feeding. Breastfeeding and having 100% support or formula?
5. Carseat. Extended rear facing or Not!?

All of these items have been mini battles!

I do not want circumcisions...he does;

I do not believe in CIO...he does;

Holidays I want at home with family...he wants to see family other places;

I wanted to Breastfeed and he although was supportive, he wasn't sure if I could handle it;

and Carseat I want her backwards until basically 4/5 and he wants to turn her ASAP!

What's funny is...A nursed until she self weaned (14 months), she has never ever once cried it out, and is still rear facing! :)

So please please have these types of conversations before you have children. They may seem silly now, but it will save you from battles in the future!

(and yes we talked about most of these...but never in great depth...do your research)

Are there any others that's I should add to my list?!?!? Cloth diaper v. Disposable maybe?

Extended Rear Facing v. Frontward Facing

The WHO recommends children to be rear facing until 2. I plan to rear face longer than 2. She's 22 pounds and 18 months...and my car-seat goes up to 40 pounds rear facing. Also there is a height limit as well!

What age was your child flipped? My pedi says 2...some friends flipped at 1...

The Great Debate

When Dave and I talk about having babies we are thrown into a head on debate about circumcision. Yes...it's a huge debate. And until we can decide (or basically tell him I'm correct) we're not having a baby.

Obviously it's a huge issue to cover and we need to decide this before we conceive.

What's your take? I'm against. He's for. No judging here. I don't judge. I live for debates, but no attacking.

Five Question Friday

Welcome to the Ecstatically Us version of 5QF!

1. Would you prefer having people over for dinner or going to their house? Have people over for dinner!  We haven't had many people over since we have renovated the house (we are still renovating and will be having a "House Warming Party" soon)...and having a 18 month old out at night is hard!  I'd love for them to come here so I can put A to bed...AND we can party (party...or play blokus...seriously...a dangerous game)

2. Favorite Bible verse and why? Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."  Obviously we have struggled with pregnancy...and this gives hope to others who are also struggling with pregnancy loss and infertility.   And although it is not a Bible verse...I have always had the poem "Footprints in the sand" memorized.

3. What was the first concert you ever attended, and the most recent one?  The first concert was when I was 5...of course it was NKOTB (New Kids on The Block)....and the most recent concert was Kenny Chesney...he always does this big thing at the end of August...and we always go!

4. The year is 2025. What are you doing, and what have you done?  In 13 years I will have had more children....I will have been teaching for quite some time....I will have a teenager who most likely wont like me (14 is when they stop liking you right?)...I will have put an addition on the house...and have been on some amazing FAMILY Vacations!  And maybe a GIRLS ONLY Vacation (yes...Maggie, Emily, Jenn and Nicole...I'm talking to you)!

5. What's your favorite Easter treat?  The Mini Cadburry Eggs!!!!  And for me a treat is watching movies!!!  :)  Of course I love watching "The Easter Parade"...and drinking Tea...I know, lame-o...but that is my favorite thing to do...at least since I can remember!  But I also am looking forward to A...and watching her light up with excitement about the eggs and the presents from the Easter Bunny!

I hope you have a GREAT FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Babies

Everywhere I look people are having babies!! Or I'm having conversations about trying to have babies!

This would be fine except I have the "fever". No not the Beiber fever...the BABY fever.

It might be because Dh has baby fever real bad. Or the fact that my 18 month old can now speak in sentences...but I'm starting with the fever!

How close are your children in age? I don't want too much space. But I also want to be settled in my career, etc

**Also, with having a baby, I am stressed to think that something will happen again.  Everyone tells us that things should work out, etc.  But it would be crazy for us not to think that something could go wrong.  I think that is part of my "Should we have another baby" fear.  I know that this is completely normal.

PLUS Everyone I know who has two + babies tells me that you love them all the same and that your heart "just grows"...is this true?  Do you "just" love them the same?  Or do you have a favorite?

Weekend (a night) Away

Here are some of my favorites from this weekend in Maryland!
